Back at the office today

Most SQA staff returned from annual leave today. We're looking forward to the coming year. I'm hoping that the focus this year is supporting the introduction of new qualifications - rather than creating lots of new ones. The team has managed and supported the development of 25 new qualifications in the last 18 months - so it's time to consolidate.



The main tasks facing the team include:

• validating the revised HND Computing
• producing support materials for the new HND Computing
• producing support materials for the Multimedia awards
• helping centres to introduce the new Computing, Multimedia and Networking qualifications
• promoting and supporting the new SVQs for IT Users
• launching the new SVQs for IT Practitioners
• launching the new E-Qualifications suite of awards
• producing support materials for the E-Qualifications suite of awards.

The team itself is changing. Shirley has recently been seconded to a new post. Caroline takes over from her. Another Officer (in addition to Caroline) will join the team in the next few months. And a new administrator will complete the changes.
