Sector Panel meeting

The Sector Panel for Computing and Call Centres met today for the first time at Lauder College in Dunfermline.



The Sector Panel's remit is to support the Qualifications Manager (that's me) and advise SQA about potential developments that we should consider. Members have been selected from colleges (such as Stow College and Cumbernauld College), industry (such as Microsoft and Oracle), training centres, and special interest groups (such as the Scottish Executive).

Since this was the first meeting, most of the time was spent explaining the role of the Panel and introducing the members. But a number of key developers (such as Mike Janetta and Jack Robertson) came along to explain recent changes to Computing provision [WMV].

It was a good meeting. The Panel meets twice per year and the next meeting is scheduled for September.
