There are three main committees that help me and my team manage our portfolio. These are:
Yesterday's QST meeting covered the NC and NPA awards (SCQF Levels 4, 5 and 6). There is another QST for HN/PDA awards (SCQF Levels 7 and 8). The main purpose of a QST is to advise me about resources and other forms of support needed to help centres. I received lots of suggestions! And thanks to ESF money we might have significant funds to develop support materials for these awards.
This morning's Sector Panel meeting was particularly good. Sector Panel gives me strategic help and consists of college representatives (Stow and Anniesland), HE representation (University of Glasgow), Sector Skills Council, HMI and vendor representatives. So it's a comprehensive group. We discussed a large number of issues today including gender issues, uptake, success rates and level 9 awards. It was a great meeting and lots of action points emerged from it.
