New NPA awards

SQA has two types of validations: a "group award validation" and an "operational validation". The group award event is the one where a panel check the qualification proposal from an educational and employment perspective. Many of you will have served on such a validation panel in the past. An operational validation is an internal process to check that the proposed award "will work" - in other words, SQA can actually implement it.

Today we had the operational validation for three new NPAs:

• NPA Still Images, Audio and Video (at SCQF Levels 4 and 5)
• NPA Animation (at SCQF Level 5).

There were a few minor conditions but nothing serious. The next stage is the group award validation, which will take place later this month.
